Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop a landscape map of the scientific-educational ground “Sarma”, which will be used for drawing up schemes of arrangement planning of the model site. In this case, we have solved a number of tasks such as development of a physical-geographical zoning scheme, collection and collation of materials for the landscape structure of the territory. The article considers scientificmethodical principles and the results of physical-geographical regionalization and landscape mapping of the territory of the scientific-educational ground “Sarma”, located on the coast of the strait of Small Sea of Lake Baikal. For studies and mapping of landscapes we used the regional-typological approach, taking into account the landscapes’ individual (regional) and typological features. Zoning was based on individual characteristics, and mapping required typological properties of the landscapes. There are four zones or landscape complexes identified in the research territory. During landscape structure mapping, we used the method of replacing regional units with typological ones. Differentiation of the landscapes was carried out given high-zone differences of the mountain-hollows territory and the influence of Lake Baikal’s water mass. The tectonic factors caused by the location within the Baikal rift system have a particular impact on the landscapes formation. In future there will be developed recommendations for tourism on the basis of landscape and arrangement planning maps.
